Scott was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he spent much of his teenage and young adult life as part of a vibrant Christian community in Homestead, PA.  He graduated summa cum laude from Point Park University in 2010 with a degree in Criminal Justice and earned his JD from Duquesne University School of Law in 2016.  

Scott and his wife Rachel have been married for over 20 years.  As newlyweds they served as missionaries in Kenya for two years before being blessed with four children between the ages of 10 and 18.  In 2025, Scott traveled to Kenya with his two oldest children to visit the people and places that had been a part of the ministry where he and Rachel had served as missionaries.  The Martin’s currently live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where Scott works as Sr. Corporate Counsel for a digital ad tech company, VDX.tv. 

Scott has served as Pastor of Pleasant Valley Community Church for almost 12 years (https://www.pvccministry.com/about-6). Pleasant Valley’s services air weekly on Cornerstone Television’s Family and Family Channel. Additionally, Scott serves on the Board of Directors for Water for Good and Child Evangelism Fellowship. He also helped with the assimilation of LifeWater International and Water for Good (2 separate nonprofits) in 2023-2024. Scott is also the President of Spirit of the Christ Gospel Way Ministries, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to evangelism, a position previously held by his father-in-law.

Scott is welcomed on an annual basis to speak at multiple churches, youth camps, and missionary seminars.
