Kate Soules, Ph.D, Director
Kate Soules grew up in Vermont and now lives in the greater Boston area. She is an education researcher and independent consultant specializing in religious literacy and religious diversity education. Kate works with organizations to assess the outcomes and effects of their programs so that they can increase the reach and impact of this work. She brings a strong research component to EC, providing a unique and tested perspective to our programs and policies.
Kate is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Religion and Education Collaborative (REC), an interdisciplinary network of scholars and practitioners working at the intersections of religion and schooling. She consults as a researcher and curriculum specialist with a wide range of organizations and has developed and taught courses about religious literacy and religious liberty for students of all ages, from elementary school through adult professional development. Kate holds a BA in Sociology from Wellesley College, a Masters of Theological Studies from the Boston University School of Theology, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the Boston College Lynch School of Education and Human Development.
During her free time Kate enjoys reading young adult novels and spending time with her family in Acadia, ME.
